Background:
 PROFILE OF PROF. GABRIEL BABATUNDE IWASOKUN Prof. G. B. Iwasokun obtained his West African School Certificate from Idogun High School, Idogun, Ondo State in 1988. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Computer Science in 1998, 2006 and 2012 respectively from The Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State. He joined Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko in 2005 as a System Programmer in the Information and Communication Center. He was also employed as an Adjunct Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science of the University in 2005 and 2009 respectively. Prof. G. B. Iwasokun joined the service of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) on March 1, 2010 as a Lecturer II. His appointment was confirmed on March 1, 2013 to retiring age. He was employed into the Department of Computer Science but later deployed to the Department of Software Engineering in 2017. He has been very effective, diligent committed, trusted and dedicated in the performance of his duties. Since joining the University, he has been rendering dutiful and meritorious services to the University in different capacities. Between 2014 and 2018, Prof. Iwasokun was the Coordinator, Computer Science Department Lecture and Examination Time Table. Between 2015 and 2017, he was the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Diploma Programme for the Department of Computer Science. Since 2014, he has been serving as the Chairman, POST UTME Biometric Screening Committee as well as Member, University Committee on Facility Verification to Crown Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti. From 2015 to date, he remains the Hall Warden to Adeniyi Students’ Hall of Residence, Member of the University Board of Survey and Member of Board of Students’ Welfare. His appointment as a Member of the University Admission Committee took effect from 2016 while his appointment as the Acting Chairman, Senate Committee for Computer-Based Test took effect from 2017. He served as a Member of the Senate Business Committee on CBT Misconduct and Student Transfer in 2018 and his role as Acting Head of the Department of Software Engineering began in 2017. Dr. Iwasokun won a Research Grant from the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in 2011. The grant was channelled into ‘Development of Centre of Excellence for Multi-Modal Biometrics Recognition’. He also won Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Research Grant in 2016. The grant was utilized on ‘Development of Cloud Computing-Based Platform for Combating Web-Based Financial Crimes in Nigeria’. Findings from these research activities had been reported in reputable journals and conference proceedings across the world. Dr. Iwasokun has won several research accolades including Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST-2013) held in London, United Kingdom in December, 2013 as well as Merit Award for Top Quality Research at the International Multi-Conference of Engineers and Computer Scientists (IMECS) held in Kowloon, Hong Kong, March 14-16, 2012. Prof. Iwasokun has co-supervised eight (8) PhD and fifteen (15) Master Degree students to completion. He also has five (5) Master Degree students as major supervisor to completion. He is currently serving as major supervisor to four PhD students and five Master students. He is also a minor supervisor to three (3) PhD and five (5) Master students. Prof. G. B. Iwasokun has contributed to three (3) books and published close to one hundred articles in reputable journals and conference proceedings. He is a goal getter, team player and has performed excellently. He is presently a member of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and Fellow, Institute of Policy Management Development (IPMD). He maintains very good relationship with both staff and students.
